Kier Group is offering a Graduate Civil / Structural / Geotechnical Design Engineer role as part of its Design team, with offices nationwide. The 2-year programme provides rotations, technical training, a site secondment, and a mentor to support professional qualification.

Starting salary is £31,000 with potential to reach around £38,000 on completion. Ideal candidates are graduating in 2027 or within the last three years with an accredited civil/structural/geotechnical degree and a valid

Qualifications

• Engineering Council accredited degree in civil, structural or geotechnical engineering or closely-related discipline.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in civil/structural/geotechnical engineering and construction industry.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel or hold a driving licence for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and checking of permanent and/or temporary design solutions.
• Assist with tender and bid-winning support, including outline design schemes and feasibility studies.
• Support development of alternative solutions and value engineering.
• Contribute to technical assessment and review of third-party designs.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections; attend meetings with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
