Job summary

Balfour Beatty is offering a Graduate Civil Engineer role as part of its 2027 Early Careers programme, based in Stornoway, Scotland. You’ll contribute to major infrastructure projects, gain hands-on experience across site and office environments, and build professional accreditations through a structured development pathway.

You’ll work with experienced teams across the project lifecycle, from planning through handover, and benefit from a supportive graduate network and clear progression

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum 2:2 honours.
• Genuine interest in infrastructure and civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of civil engineering projects across design, planning, and construction phases.
• Review drawings, specifications, models, and technical information to support project delivery.
• Assist with the development and implementation of engineering solutions meeting project requirements.
• Identify, assess and manage engineering and project risks with a focus on health, safety, environment and quality.
