Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Graduate Civil Engineer in Sheffield to join our Highways & Transportation Practice. You’ll support a team of engineers on a portfolio of schemes for national and local highways, developing practical skills from day one.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to technical reports and client presentations, and help shape maintenance and lifecycle strategies for critical infrastructure. Start date is September 2027 and working hours are 40 per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and contribute to technical reports, design proposals, and client presentations.
• Support delivery of engineering projects for highways.
• Contribute to asset management strategies and lifecycle planning.
• Use industry-standard software to model and analyse options.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, geotechnical, environmental).
• Develop innovative designs that meet industry standards and guidelines.
• Deliver robust designs to support safe, efficient asset management.
