This opportunity is available with a market leading Consultancy who specialise in high–end sustainable and innovative builds in coastal areas.

As a Graduate Building Services Engineer, you will be expected to join an experienced team and you will be training in mechanical and electrical design for building services. You will be trained by the team, review sites in the UK and Caribbean and complete site visits overseas to liaise with architects, contractors and clients.

You will be trained to complete;

Responsibilities

  • Electrical cabling, lighting, fire protection and emergency lighting design using DIAlux and Relux.
  • Complete 2D and 3D models, perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, IES, Open Buildings or Elite).
  • Prepare mechanical drawings, schematics, simulations, vertical transportation and technical specifications in accordance with building codes, sustainability goals, and project requirements.
  • Design to BIM level 2 in accordance with British Standards PAS 1192–5.
  • Collaborate with architects, plumbing, and structural engineers to ensure coordinated MEP layouts and avoid design clashes.
  • Attend internal and client meetings to review design issues/queries and align project objectives both in the UK and Caribbean. You will be supported by experienced team members during meetings.
  • Assist with site visits to monitor installation quality, verify compliance with original designs and highlight issues during construction in the UK and Caribbean when needed.
Benefits and Location
  • This role is from the office in Bolton for 5 days a week. This exciting role offers international projects and travel (travel expenses covered), free on–site parking, career progression and the chance to be trained in both electrical and mechanical design.
  • Free parking is available on site and sponsorship may be provided, following a PSW visa.
Qualifications
  • As a Graduate Building Services Engineer, you will be expected to have a BSc and/or an MSc in Building Services Engineering and have a keen interest in mechanical and electrical design.
  • You will also be a confident individual who is comfortable liaising with design teams, contractors and clients and who is interested in international travel on occasion.
  • As a Graduate Engineer, you will be keen to learn and develop design skills to complete detailed electrical and HVAC designs for residential, holiday resorts, hotels, high–end residential or leisure complexes and healthcare schemes.
