Job summary

The Graduate Network is seeking a Graduate Academic Mentor for an immediate start in a Walsall secondary school. You will support KS3/KS4 students 1:1 and across the curriculum, help pupils understand content and boost engagement. You’ll also assist teaching staff with classroom tasks and student focus.

Ideal candidates are graduates with strong communication, patience, and reliability, aiming for teacher training or a long-term education career. DBS enhanced required or willing to obtain.

Qualifications

• 2:2 degree or above in any subject.
• Genuine interest in supporting secondary students across KS3/KS4.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain learning clearly.
• Patient, organised and encouraging approach to academic support.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support across KS3/KS4 and general curriculum support.
• Assist teaching staff with classroom support and keeping students focused and engaged.
• Help pupils stay organised and confident in their learning across subjects.
