Job summary

Swansea University invites applications for a Research Assistant to advance GPU-accelerated scientific computing within the REMODEL programme. Based at Bay Campus, Swansea, the role focuses on developing and optimising simulation software to exploit heterogeneous HPC systems and enable large-scale Exascale simulations.

You will contribute to mesh generation, adaptivity and high‑performance workflows, collaborating across the REMODEL consortium.

Qualifications

• Applicants should demonstrate strong expertise in scientific programming, parallel computing and high‑performance research software.
• Experience with Fortran and/or C++, MPI/OpenMP and GPU programming would be particularly relevant.
• Experience with numerical methods on unstructured meshes or HPC performance optimisation would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop GPU-accelerated high‑performance scientific computing software within the REMODEL project.
• Work at the intersection of GPU computing, scientific software and computational engineering to enable Exascale simulation.
• Collaborate across the REMODEL consortium and contribute to publications and high‑performance workflows.
• Engage with mesh generation, adaptivity and solver workflows for heterogeneous HPC systems.
