Job summary

Chiltern House Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Assistant Manager to join on a permanent, full-time basis. You will support day-to-day operational management across clinical, reception and admin services, ensuring high patient care standards.

The role requires strong leadership in a GP setting, with experience in practice operations, compliance, and staff development. EMIS experience is highly desirable and you will work with the leadership team to maintain service

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy; able to lead and manage teams.
• Leadership and/or management qualification is desirable.
• Experience with NHS/primary care settings is valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the practice, supporting the Business Manager.
• Lead and support reception and administrative teams; ensure staff performance.
• Manage clinical systems and IT processes (EMIS Web) including user access and audits.
• Governance and compliance: audits, incidents, health and safety, data protection.
• Liaise with external stakeholders; deputise for the Business Manager when required.
