Job summary

Northgate Surgery, a busy GP practice in Pontefract, is seeking an experienced Receptionist to join our team. You will be heavily involved in patient care, from organising appointments to assisting the clinical triage team and handling front-of-house queries, while supporting care navigation and record management.

We offer 37 hours per week, with flexibility for holidays and sickness cover. The role includes a competitive salary, NHS pension and 6 weeks holiday.

Qualifications

• Experience as receptionist in General Practice or busy reception.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle patient queries and appointments.

Responsibilities

• Care navigate to other services when appropriate.
• Deal with online services such as patches, emails and GP billing.
• Handle queries and requests regarding prescriptions.
• Register new patients and temporary residents.
• Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services.
