Job summary

China Fleet Country Club in Saltash is seeking a Golf Shop Assistant for a permanent role, minimum 30 hours per week on a rota including weekends. You will sell golf merchandise and range balls, check golfers in for tee times, and operate the club's computerised booking system and till.

Take golf bookings by phone and cash up at the end of shifts. The role requires knowledge of golf and the Rules of Golf, plus previous retail experience (golf industry preferred).

Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Golf Shop Assistant to join our team at China Fleet Country Club. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for interview will be contacted. Closing Date: Friday 4 September 2026.

• This is a permanent position, based on a minimum of 30 hours per week, worked on a rota basis, including weekends. Shifts will be scheduled between 6:30am and 9:00pm. Additional hours may be available to meet the needs of the business.
• Selling golf merchandise and driving range balls.
• Checking golfers in for tee times and making them aware of local rules and dress code requirements.
• Operating the Club's computerised booking system and till.
• Taking golf bookings by telephone.
• Cashing up tills at the end of a shift.
• Monitoring the 1st tee and marshalling the golf course.

Qualifications

• Have knowledge of the game of golf and the Rules of Golf.
• Have previous retail experience, preferably within the golf industry.
