£33,000 - £42,600 per annum - dependent on experience

Why this role is important for CPI’s work

Key responsibilities include (full details available on the CPI careers page):

  • Supervising the team to ensure departmental goals are met, including delegation, feedback, and motivation. Providing first-line management support, resource allocation, and short-term planning.
  • Managing daily and weekly activities, assisting in setting objectives, supporting performance management, and providing training and coaching.
  • Serving as a point of contact for team queries and escalations, conducting meetings and one-to-one sessions for effective communication.
  • Utilizing expertise to translate business strategies into actionable plans to achieve team and organizational objectives.
  • Agreeing on weekly work plans with team members and stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Promoting continuous capability development through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Improving operational facilities, including safety, housekeeping, documentation, and process efficiency.
  • Ensuring effective project delivery, availability of materials, and operational readiness of the team.
The person we are seeking

Essential qualifications: GCSE level C (or equivalent) in Maths, English, Science; NVQ Level III (or equivalent) in Process Plant Operation.

  • Significant technical expertise in plant operations and leadership in an GMP environment.
  • Experience in building knowledge sharing and networks across teams and organizations.
  • Ability to handle complex technical activities independently, implementing innovative solutions.
  • Experience in a process plant environment.
  • Proven safety and operational excellence in chemical or bio-chemical processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desirable qualifications: Supervisory or management qualification, formal management training, or managerial development program; active membership in a professional body.
