Position Summary:

Lead a diverse team in Operations at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., focusing on safety, efficiency, and quality.

Support the Manufacturing Supervisor by leading a team to improve inventory metrics and meet manufacturing goals.

Essential Functions:
  • Supervise staff and manage schedule execution, ensuring all processes are completed with a quality-first approach.
  • Coordinate performance across shifts, adjusting resources to support effective schedule execution.
  • Deliver effective communication across the team.
  • Develop team members using situational leadership and provide feedback to team managers on staff performance.
  • See opportunities to improve performance and work with stream leads to implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to improve overall customer experience through better inventory accuracy.
  • Analyze raw material inventory and implement improvements in transactional behaviors, storage utilization, and management of expiration and slow-moving/obsolete stock.
  • Ensure all compliance-based training is continually supervised and up-to-date.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Operations management.
  • Provide support for other processes as needed.
  • Deliver continuous monitoring of raw material stock locations, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Participate in kaizens to improve the prep stream.
  • Ensure compliance and encouraged levels of efficiency by reviewing and updating established protocols and tasks when required.
  • Liaise with support functions within operations to troubleshoot processes, procedures, and product issues.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks and demonstrate behaviors that build an environment for colleagues to excel.

  • Experienced communicator with a history of leading a team to deliver excellence in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Ability to realize employees' potential through mentoring, supporting, delegating, or advising.
  • Demonstrates passion, dedication, strong results focus, and an understanding of company strategy cascading to the shop floor.
  • Capable of considering multiple options and incorporating prioritization and data analysis into decision-making.
  • Experience leading or being part of projects supporting the continued growth of operations.
  • Skilled in reviewing and presenting data to support investment in people and processes for improvement or expansion.
  • Adaptable to change and able to support the team through challenging change initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring all service levels are met and adhered to.
  • Facilitate customer audits.
  • Passionate about 5S and PPI.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing warehouse and evaluating inventory levels.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and encourages team passion for PPI and quality compliance.

Previous industry experience preferred, with a focus on high-efficiency manufacturing.

Has contact with all Cell Culture employees. Will also collaborate extensively with all other departments on matters relating to quality and service to uphold the Company’s dedication to Customer happiness. This involves working with colleagues across all levels within the organization as well as external customers and regulatory bodies.

Works in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to work overtime and flexible working hours.
