Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an International Trade & Logistics Specialist in the Birmingham area to coordinate import/export activities, ensure regulatory compliance and optimise freight costs.

The role involves working with customers, freight forwarders and internal teams to maintain compliant, efficient logistics and support business growth. Hybrid working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to ITAR considerations is possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in import/export operations and international logistics coordination.
• Strong understanding of shipping documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and trade compliance requirements.
• Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day export and import activities by air, sea and road.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation (invoices, packing lists, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with UK and international customs regulations.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, brokers and transport providers.
• Monitor shipments and identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
