Job summary

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a Head of Professional Development Operations to lead the delivery and scaling of its Professional Development portfolio from Cambridge. You will develop costed delivery plans, forecast revenue and drive efficiency across course production, trainer recruitment and customer booking support.

The role requires significant operational leadership across international teams, robust governance, and the ability to turn strategy into reliable, profitable

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading complex operations, programmes or portfolios.
• Proven ability to scale processes to increase revenue, efficiency, quality or customer outcomes.
• Expertise in programme and project management approaches (Agile, Scrum, Lean Change, PMO).
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, financial performance and operational reporting.
• Experience of content production at scale, supplier management and integration of digital platforms.
• Strong data management and impact-reporting capability, turning insight into action.
• Proven team leadership, coaching senior managers and driving high performance through change.
• Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Professional Development delivery and governance, ensuring sustainable, scalable operations.
• Translate strategy into costed delivery plans with revenue forecasting and resource allocation.
• Oversee course production, trainer recruitment, course management and customer booking support.
• Build and lead an integrated Operations function with clear ways of working and accountability.
• Develop portfolio roadmaps aligned with customer demand and commercial goals.
• Manage risks, dependencies and escalations to keep delivery on time and budget.
