Job summary

HSBC Group is seeking a senior professional to lead Global Macro risk governance and control activities in the UK. The role focuses on maintaining robust RMF components, escalating material risks with clear actions, and producing governance materials with evidence-backed closure.

You will coordinate risk assessments, control monitoring, and remediation planning across frontline and second-line functions, ensuring timely responses to incidents and support for audits and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in non-financial/operational risk, controls, audit or compliance in a trading environment.
• Strong ability to produce senior-management risk reporting and governance materials.
• Structured evaluation of complex risk and control matters with clear escalation when needed.
• Proven track record of delivering timely risk remediation and issue closure.
• Effective written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders across locations.

Responsibilities

• Own relevant Global Macro governance forums and RMF components covering risks, issues, actions, conduct and NFR metrics
• Produce concise management information, highlight trends and data-quality issues and escalate material matters with clear next steps
• Ensure governance packs reviewed to high standard, including key risk indicators and evidence with transparent tracking to closure
• Coordinate risk and control assessments, control monitoring, trigger reviews and remediation planning
• Monitor controls across Helios and DEER and support timely closure of overdue items
• Coordinate first-line responses to incidents and near misses with root-cause analysis and escalation
• Support audits and regulatory reviews by coordinating evidence, responses and action closure
• Partner with Front Office and control functions to keep trading controls practical and aligned to risk profile
