Job summary

HSBC in Edinburgh is seeking an Associate Director for a senior risk and control role within Securities Services. You will oversee the Non-Financial Risk framework across Funds Administration, Middle-Office, Transfer Agency and Trustee, guiding governance and escalation with stakeholders across product, operations and technology.

You will embed risk considerations into product development and change delivery, ensuring timely RCA updates and sustainable remediation while driving stronger risk

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Securities Services across Funds Administration, Middle-Office, Transfer Agency and Trustee.
• Proven experience in Business Management, Audit, Risk and/or Control within a global financial institution.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across geographies and functions with clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience supporting material remediation and delivering outcomes to timelines.
• Data-driven with capability to interpret trends and translate into practical actions.
• Experience applying AI or analytics in risk/control with governance and audit-ready docs.

Responsibilities

• Shape delivery of the Funds Administration, Middle-Office, Transfer Agency and Trustee NFR agenda with senior stakeholders.
• Provide end-to-end oversight across business, operations and technology to prevent risks becoming issues.
• Coordinate risk activities for regulatory and audit engagements and escalate where needed.
• Embed NFR requirements into product development and change delivery with evidence and go-live readiness.
• Partner with Product, Technology and Operations to simplify and automate controls for better outcomes.
• Execute Risk Management Framework activities including policy, governance and reporting.
• Strengthen assurance through OKR/KPI/KRI tracking and thematic reviews aligned to risk profile.
• Manage incident and issue activity with identification, escalation and remediation tracking.
