Job summary

GE Vernova is expanding its HVDC capabilities and launching a Global HVDC System Commissioning & Services department within the HVDC Solution Line. The Global HVDC System Commissioning & Services Leader will oversee strategic management of commissioning and C&P services, driving standardized processes and governance worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in HVDC Control & Protection or large-scale power system commissioning.
• Proven track record of leading large, multi-cultural, and geographically dispersed teams.
• Deep technical knowledge of HVDC technologies (LCC/VSC), control system architecture (eLumina), SCADA, and Cyber-security.
• Experience in laboratory-based testing using Real Time Digital Simulators (RTDS).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders in a matrix organization and manage functional budgets.
• Strong health and safety mindset with a commitment to international high-voltage standards.
• Ability to travel globally to project sites and laboratory hubs.

Responsibilities

• Establish the framework and standards to ensure seamless system integration and consistent delivery across all projects.
• Provide independent oversight of system integration, verifying that solutions are ready for site deployment.
• Lead end-to-end commissioning strategy, from laboratory-based integration through customer acceptance.
• Drive the technical support strategy for our installed fleet, transforming field performance data into continuous improvements for engineering and NPI teams.
• Standardize a global framework to capture lessons learned, reducing project costs and increasing operational efficiency.
• Define the long-term organizational strategy, ensuring the right competencies and leadership pipeline are in place to support business growth.
• Serve as the functional escalation point for complex grid interaction challenges or unpredicted system behaviors.
