Job summary

Oliver Valves Ltd seeks a commercially focused General Manager to join our team. With a solid mechanical engineering background, you will balance technical insight with sales leadership and strong customer relationship management.

You will evaluate technical and commercial requirements, propose solutions, and guide opportunities from enquiry through to contract award, while growing existing accounts and securing new business for our global operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role.
• Qualified in mechanical engineering principles and products.
• Experience in valve, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy or manufacturing sectors advantageous.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience preparing quotations and negotiating terms.
• Experience using CRM and related business systems.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical quotations, commercial proposals and tender submissions.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and contracts while protecting profit margins.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Quality to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate customer, opportunity and sales activity records within the CRM system.
• Provide customer and market feedback to support product development and innovation.
• Support achievement of individual and company sales targets.
