Lockton is the largest privately owned insurance broker in the world. Unencumbered by shareholders, we consistently demonstrate double digit organic growth. Our claims team is made up of over 130 claims specialists across 5 locations.

Due to the team having significantly expanded in size across the past 5 years and following a number of major global client wins, we are now seeking a Global Claims Advocate/Executive who will be responsible for managing the claims programmes of a selection of our UK and Global P&C clients.

These clients are likely to include household names in the retail, manufacturing, food & drink, hospitality, and logistics sectors.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised, technical, and robust claims advocate, reviewing policy coverage and making arguments on their client’s behalf to deliver outstanding claims outcomes.

This role could also involve authoring technical updates, executive summaries, delivering training, undertaking claims audits, and generally displaying a full understanding of the industry and regulatory landscape.

Lockton is operating in an agile working environment, and the successful candidate will be expected to be in a UK office for at least one day per week, subject to client/external meetings. This role will require travel across the UK, either to client premises or Lockton offices, and may require international travel to meet client requirements.

About You

Your knowledge and expertise:

1. The ideal candidate will have experience in a senior claims relationship or technical role either in-house at a major corporate entity, a major law firm, a global insurer, or broker.
2. Extensive experience in PDBI, Motor, and Casualty with an excellent understanding of the legal principles that underpin a wide range of insurance types.
3. Excellent problem solver and researcher, able to investigate technical issues quickly, calling on support from colleagues and formulating appropriate advice to the best interests of your client.
4. This role will focus on Motor, Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, and Property Damage & Business Interruption claims; you should also have some understanding of other claim types (e.g. Cyber, D&O, PI, PAT, Marine Cargo) and how these should be handled to drive excellent outcomes.
5. Able to quickly build an understanding of a client’s business issues, insurance needs, and expectations.
6. Comfortable advocating on behalf of your clients on large, complex claims or summarising performance and trends across a large volume of claims, both in writing and presenting in person to senior client stakeholders.
7. The ability to prepare and interpret claims experiences and analysis including claims triangulations and the impact that deductibles and cover variations will have.
8. Excellent ambassador, having the personal presence to interface with the management of clients, colleagues, insurers, and other third-party providers, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner both at client, carrier, and supplier premises and at industry events.
9. A high-level understanding of claims handling in the London Market and experience in handling Global risks would be advantageous.
