Global Category Manager - Marine Engineering - £65,000 to £75,000 | 10% bonus, company car + full corporate benefits | REMOTE role with ad-hoc visits to sites in the UK | A global FTSE 100 Professional Services business

They are seeking an experienced Category Manager with marine industry experience, whether in Manufacturing, Engineering, New Vessels, or MRO focus categories, managing large value and complex projects.

The group is undergoing an exciting transformation, expanding its function with ongoing opportunities for progression.

Role and responsibilities:

• Report to the Head of Global Procurement - Engineering, within a team of colleagues at various levels
• Develop, design, and improve category strategies
• Conduct end-to-end sourcing within designated spend areas using strategic approaches
• Collaborate with senior business leaders to develop category strategies and plans
• Provide ongoing advice on market trends, innovations, and supplier market knowledge
• Manage and understand both regulated and unregulated complex projects
• Ensure strategic procurement delivers the best commercial value for the business

Experience required:

• Extensive experience in the Marine Industry, including Defence, Commercial, or Dry Dock sectors
• Proven strategic category management in large, complex organizations
• Experience in Engineering Services or MRO categories within relevant industries
• Track record of delivering savings in similar-sized businesses
• Ability to engage, negotiate, and influence senior stakeholders up to Board Level
• Strong stakeholder management skills, adaptable to different relationship levels and maturity
• Experience working in a large, cross-functional procurement team
• MCIPS qualification is desirable but not essential
