Job summary

B G Automotive is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our Manchester team. This role focuses on sourcing and purchasing automotive parts, with emphasis on Far East suppliers, price negotiation and overseas supplier management.

You will identify new suppliers, negotiate terms, track lead times, and work closely with sales, warehouse and accounts to ensure smooth, cost-efficient sourcing. A proactive, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience sourcing and purchasing from the Far East, preferably in automotive.
• Strong negotiation and communication across cultures and time zones.
• Good understanding of margins, import costs and international trade terms.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase automotive parts from Far East suppliers.
• Identify and develop new supplier relationships.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with overseas suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and terms.
• Monitor market trends and supplier changes across sourcing regions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities to improve margins.
• Collaborate with sales, warehouse, accounts and management teams.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.
