Job summary

B G Automotive is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our growing team in the United Kingdom. You will source and purchase automotive parts from Far East suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage overseas supplier relationships to secure the right products at the right prices.

The role emphasizes commercial awareness, cross-cultural communication, and the ability to drive cost reductions while maintaining product quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Essential: proven experience sourcing and purchasing from the Far East, ideally within the automotive, motor trade, engineering, manufacturing or parts sector.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills across cultures and time zones.
• Good commercial awareness including margins, import costs and international trade terms.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and purchasing automotive parts and products from Far East suppliers in line with business requirements.
• Identify and develop new supplier relationships.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with existing overseas suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial agreements.
• Monitor market trends, product developments and supplier changes across sourcing regions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve margins through overseas sourcing.
• Collaborate with sales, warehouse, accounts and management teams.
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing and lead times.
• Resolve purchasing, delivery and product-related issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.
