Job summary

B.G. Automotive Ltd in Swindon is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing function and support continued growth. You will develop strategies, manage global suppliers, and drive cost-effective procurement across our supply base.

You will partner with Supply Chain, Product Management, Finance and Operations to optimise inventory, improve supplier performance, and enable achievement of business objectives.

Qualifications

• Senior-level purchasing experience in automotive, manufacturing, engineering or distribution.
• Proven track record of negotiating supplier contracts and achieving cost savings.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and forecasting.
• Data-driven approach to supplier and spend management.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and purchasing tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the purchasing function to support growth and operational excellence.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimise cost, quality, service, and availability.
• Build and maintain relationships with global suppliers and negotiate terms.
• Monitor supplier performance via KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Finance and Operations to ensure stock availability.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with policies, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support new product introductions with effective sourcing strategies.
• Lead and mentor the purchasing team to foster a high-performance culture.
