Job summary

Leonardo is seeking an Airworthiness Approvals Lead to support the Future Combat Air (FCA) GCAP programme. The role encompasses sustaining the DAOS Exposition, developing a new organisational approval framework, and collaborating across UK sites including Newcastle, Edinburgh, Luton, Bristol, Lincoln, Basildon or Southampton.

The role is hybrid, with travel to partner sites in the UK and overseas, requiring strong regulatory experience and leadership in airworthiness certification across

Qualifications

• Background in aerospace engineering with airworthiness certification focus.
• Experience with UK MAA or EASA/CAA airworthiness certification processes.
• Experience developing and maintaining DAOS Expositions.
• Knowledge of UK MAA MRP, EASA CS-25 and related regs.

Responsibilities

• Represent Leonardo in GCAP forums on Design Organisation Approvals as SME.
• Maintain knowledge of UK Military/European regulatory environments.
• Collaborate with GCAP Chief Airworthiness Engineer and DETO with international partners.
• Coordinate with Design Integrity Chief Engineers and Safety/Airworthiness leads.
• Maintain and assess changes to the DAOS Exposition and MAA publications.
• Monitor regulatory environment changes and advise on responses.
• Work with GCAP Edgewing and G2E to align tri-national airworthiness delivery.
