Job summary

Leonardo in the UK is seeking an Airworthiness Approvals Lead to sustain the DAOS Exposition and drive a new organisational approval framework for the GCAP programme. You will work with UK MAA/EASA regulators, lead design reviews, and coordinate cross-site activities at Luton, Lincoln, and other UK sites within a hybrid working model.

Reporting to the GCAP Chief Airworthiness Engineer, the role requires aerospace engineering expertise, master’s level qualification, and strong regulatory know-how

Qualifications

• Background in aerospace engineering specialising in airworthiness certification.
• Master’s level qualification.
• Experience with UK MAA or civil equivalents (EASA, CAA).
• Knowledge of airworthiness regulations (EMAR Part 21, DO-178C/DO-254).
• Experience supporting design reviews, audits, and certification submissions.

Responsibilities

• Represent Leonardo in GCAP forums on Design Organisation Approvals.
• Maintain and develop the DAOS Exposition and related regulatory publications.
• Collaborate with GCAP Chief Airworthiness Engineer and DETO with international partners.
• Work with Design Integrity Chief Engineers to ensure consistent approaches across LOBs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on impacts and responses.
