Leonardo in the UK is seeking an Airworthiness Approvals Lead to sustain the DAOS framework and develop a new organisational approval structure for the GCAP programme. The role is hybrid, based at multiple sites including Luton, with travel to partner sites in the UK and abroad.

You will work with GCAP Chief Airworthiness Engineer and DETO partners, ensuring compliance with UK/European airworthiness standards and leading regulatory engagements across domains.

Qualifications

• Background in aerospace engineering specialising in airworthiness. Master’s level qualification.
• Experience with UK Military Aviation Authority or civil equivalents (EASA/CAA) in airworthiness certification.
• Experience developing and maintaining DAOS Expositions.
• Strong knowledge of airworthiness regs (MAA MRP, EASA CS-25, EMAR Part 21, MIL-HDBK-516).
• Experience supporting design reviews, audits and regulatory meetings.
• Ability to interpret regulator notices affecting DAOS Exposition and processes.
• Excellent technical writing for safety reports and certification submissions.

Responsabilités

• Represent Leonardo in GCAP forums on Design Organisation Approvals as SME.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory environments (UK/EU).
• Collaborate with the DETO and GCAP partners in airworthiness activities.
• Work with Design Integrity and safety leads to ensure consistent approaches.
• Maintain and assess changes to DAOS Exposition and regulatory publications.
• Contribute to G2E/Domain groups on regulatory environment changes.
• Develop a tri-national approach with GCAP Edgewing and G2E partners.
