Job summary

We are seeking a Research Facility Scientist to join the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine Genome Engineering, Transgenics and Virus Production Facility in Oxford. You will design, generate and validate genetically modified models using CRISPR/Cas9, collaborating with researchers to meet experimental needs.

You will manage multiple projects, perform complex workflows, and provide technical guidance while delivering high-quality results in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics or closely related discipline.
• Significant experience with CRISPR/Cas9 technology and cell culture.
• Experience with generating and validating genetically modified models.

Responsibilities

• Design, generate and validate genetically modified models.
• Collaborate with researchers to understand experimental requirements and develop genome-engineering strategies.
• Lead technically complex workflows from design to validation and deliver high-quality results.
• Provide technical advice and communicate progress clearly to facility users.
