Job summary
The Francis Crick Institute is seeking a GeMS Senior Laboratory Research Scientist to lead and develop the Genetic Modification Services team. You will oversee cryopreservation, rederivation, colony management and execution of complex genetic modification projects, ensuring high standards of quality and service delivery.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in biology or related science, or substantial relevant work experience.
- Extensive experience in murine cryopreservation, ART, and genetic manipulation.
- Experience in colony management and scientific service provision.
Responsibilities
- Lead cryopreservation and rederivation activities across the Crick.
- Oversee colony management of colonies undergoing cryopreservation and rederivation.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and line management to GeMS staff.
- Support scheduling, resource allocation and project management within GeMS.
