Qualifications

Minimum 3 years' experience as Generator Service Engineer or similar.
Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution.
Experience with generator control systems such as ComAp / DSE.
Experience using ComAp PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite.
Time-served engineer with ability to work independently.
Strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
Willingness for UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays.
Full right to work in the UK.

Maintenance Engineer – Generator

Location: Midlands / Field-Based

Salary: £35,(Apply online only) – £44,(Apply online only) + Company Van + Overtime

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

The Opportunity

We are working with an established specialist in standby power, critical power and energy systems, with over 40 years' experience delivering generators, UPS systems and associated power infrastructure across the UK.

They are looking for an experienced Generator Maintenance Engineer to join their growing technical team.

This is a field-based position where you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of generators, primarily within your allocated region but with UK-wide travel when required.

The role would suit an experienced engineer who is time-served, technically strong and comfortable working independently in a customer-facing environment.

The Role

You will carry out routine servicing, remedial works and reactive breakdown repairs on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.

You will also participate in an out-of-hours callout rota, responding to customer breakdowns when required.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators.
Diagnose and repair generator faults.

Diagnose electrical and control-system faults.
Complete service documentation and customer reports.
Maintain strong customer relationships.
Work safely and maintain high standards of presentation.
Participate in the company's out-of-hours callout rota.
Travel throughout the UK when required, including occasional overnight stays.
Work closely with the wider engineering and technical teams.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar.
Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
Experience working with generator control systems such as ComAp / Deep Sea Electronics (DSE).
Experience using laptop-based engine analysis and control software such as ComAp PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite.
Strong practical engineering ability and a time-served background.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with high-mileage driving and occasional overnight stays.
Full right to work in the UK.
