Job summary

Astute's Power Team in London is recruiting a Generator Maintenance Engineer for its London sites to service standby power systems, including generators from 10kVA to 2MVA, and to respond to on-site breakdowns.

Salary £35,000 to £44,000 plus enhanced pension, company van, company phone, a bonus scheme and 25 days’ holiday, with occasional overnight stays and UK-wide travel. You will work with ComAp and DSE software, and participate in an out-of-hours rota.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar role.
• Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Practical knowledge of software-based control systems such as ComAp and Deep Sea.
• IT skills including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Gas Safe qualification desirable.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification desirable.
• IEE 18th Edition desirable.
• CSCS card desirable.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout the UK, primarily within the London area.
• Carry out routine servicing on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.
• Undertake scheduled service work, remedial works and reactive maintenance.
• Act as the first responder to on-site generator breakdowns.
• Participate in an out-of-hours callout rota.
• Use engineering skills to maintain and service a range of generator systems.
• Work remotely with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Astute's Power Team is partnering with a thriving technical specialist in standby power, uninterruptible power supplies and combined heat and power systems, to recruit a Generator Maintenance Engineer for its London sites.

The strategically important Generator Maintenance Engineer role comes with a salary of £35,000 to £44,000, enhanced pension, company van, company phone, bonus scheme and 25 days' holiday increasing through the company loyalty programme.

Responsibilities and duties of the Generator Maintenance Engineer

• Travel throughout the UK, primarily within the London area
• Carry out routine servicing on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.

Professional qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or in a similar role.

• Strong IT skills, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Experience using laptop-based engine system analysis and control programmes such as ComAp PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite.
• Gas Safe qualification desirable.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification desirable.
• IEE 18th Edition qualification desirable.
• CSCS card desirable.
• Own basic electrical and mechanical toolkit desirable.
• Right to live and work in the UK.
