Job summary

Neos Recruitment Ltd seeks a Generator Maintenance Engineer to cover London and Greater London. You will service, maintain and repair generator systems from 10kVA to 2MVA, working closely with customers and the technical team.

This field-based role includes a salary of £35,000–£44,000, company van, phone, overtime, and an out-of-hours rota, with hours 8:00am–5:00pm Monday–Friday and some UK travel as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong LV power generation and distribution knowledge.
• Experience with ComAp / DSE control systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators.
• Attend reactive breakdowns across London and surrounding areas.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
• Complete service reports and documentation.
• Work on generator systems from 10kVA to 2MVA.
• Participate in out-of-hours callout rota.

Maintenance Engineer – Generator

Location: London / Greater London – Field-Based

Salary: £35,(Apply online only) – £44,(Apply online only) + Company Van + Overtime

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

The Opportunity

We are working with an established specialist in standby power, critical power and energy systems, with over 40 years' experience delivering generators, UPS systems and associated power infrastructure across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Generator Maintenance Engineer to cover the London and Greater London region.

This is a field-based role, giving you responsibility for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of generator systems while working closely with customers and the wider technical team.

The Role

You will primarily operate across London and Greater London, carrying out scheduled servicing, remedial works and reactive breakdown repairs on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.

You will also participate in an out-of-hours callout rota, responding to customer breakdowns when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators.
• Attend reactive breakdowns across London and surrounding areas.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
• Complete remedial works and repairs.
• Work on generator systems ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.
• Complete service reports and associated documentation.
• Build strong working relationships with customers.
• Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness and presentation.
• Participate in the out-of-hours callout rota.
• Work closely with the wider engineering and technical teams.
• Travel outside the London region when business requirements dictate.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Experience with ComAp / Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) control systems.
• Experience using ComAp PC Suite, DSE Configuration Suite or similar engine analysis/control software.
• Strong practical engineering ability.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Comfortable with occasional overnight stays and wider UK travel when required.
