Job summary

Locum GP cover for the Ministry of Defence at Bovington Camp Medical Centre, supplied through Military Medical Personnel for an eight-week assignment. The work centres on primary healthcare clinics for military and entitled personnel, alongside occupational health fitness-for-work assessments and associated reporting.

The post is part-time at 7.5 hours a week. Prior MoD experience, unrestricted GMC registration and an NHS Performers List entry are needed.

Qualifications

• GMC registration on the main register and GP Register without restrictions.
• Entry on the UK NHS Performers List with an NHS performer number.
• Previous Ministry of Defence experience.

Responsibilities

• Undertake primary healthcare clinics for military and entitled personnel.
• Carry out examinations and occupational health fitness-for-work assessments.
• Inform the local medical authority of cases affecting a serviceperson’s duties.
• Complete reports and documentation under MoD policy or other government requirements.
• Attend management reviews or case conferences with primary healthcare and/or line management.

What the job involves

• Undertake primary healthcare clinics for military and entitled personnel
• Carry out examinations and occupational health fitness-for-work assessments within the scope of the doctor's experience and qualification
• Inform the local medical authority of any case that may affect a serviceperson's ability to do their duties
• Complete reports and documentation under MoD policy or the requirements of other government departments
• Attend individual management reviews or case conferences with primary healthcare and/or line management as required

Registration & licences

• GMC registration on the main register and the GP Register without restrictions
• Entry on the UK NHS Performers List with an NHS performer number

Experience

• Previous Ministry of Defence experience

Checks & eligibility

• PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland) or Access Northern Ireland certificate
• Right to work in the UK with no restriction on hours
• Satisfactory compliance requirements for placement

Other

• Current, satisfactory annual appraisal in line with GMC Good Medical Practice
• In-date certification in safeguarding children and young people and safeguarding adults to Level 3
