Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Bullingdon, a Category B remand prison in Oxfordshire. This role focuses on end-to-end care in long-term conditions, substance misuse or mental health within a 24/7 on-site health service.

This part-time position offers 3 sessions (12 hours) per week with one evening session and two Saturdays per month. Salary up to £134,680 FTE depending on experience, with development and governance opportunities.

Qualifications

• MBChB or MBBS and GMC registration.
• Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients and further develop knowledge in areas not normally experienced in general practice or A&E.
• Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis and timely management decisions for patients.
• Act as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team, while remaining actively involved in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Bullingdon, a Category B remand prison located in Oxfordshire.

HMP Bullingdon houses around 1,150 patients aged 18+. This role suits a GP with particular interest in delivering end-to-end care in long-term conditions, substance misuse or mental health. The site offers a 24/7 health care service; as part of the role you will complete ward rounds on a 21-bed inpatient unit with a high level of elderly care and complete evening receptions.

Hours

• Monday to Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00 (morning), 13:00 – 17:00 (afternoon), 18:00 – 22:00 (evening)

This is a part-time role working 3 sessions, or 12 hours per week. You must be able to work 1 evening session per week and 2 Saturdays per month.

Salary

Annual salary up to £134,680 per annum FTE – depending on experience.
