Practice Plus Group is seeking a Bank General Practitioner to join the healthcare team at HMP Sudbury, near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. The role includes referrals to hospital and external services for reintegration patients, with emphasis on substance-misuse support.

The position is part-time (8 hours or 2 sessions per week) with a salary up to £125,000 FTE depending on experience. Training, induction, and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• MBChB or MBBS with GMC registration and GP Performers List.
• Annual appraisal engagement required.
• Experience as a GP in community general practice.
• Continued professional development expected.
• Ability to work with patients with substance misuse.
• RCGP Substance Misuse certificates or willingness to obtain.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank General Practitioner to join our Healthcare team at HMP Sudbury a category D prison near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. This prison supports around 660 male patients, many of whom have complex physical health and low level mental health needs. As part of this role you will be completing referrals to hospital and external service for patients who are reintegrating back into the community. Ideal applicants would also have experience supporting patients with substance misuse needs.

Hours

Monday: 08:30-17:00

This is a part time role working 8hours or 2 sessions per week

Salary

This is a part time role, with a salary of up to £125,000 per annum FTE depending on experience

• Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
• Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Requirements

• MBChB or MBBS Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
