Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Bank General Practitioner to join the healthcare team at Derwentside IRC in Consett, County Durham. The role supports up to 80 women with primary care, mental health and substance misuse services, with a holistic and trauma-informed approach.

You will work Monday to Sunday with sessions 08:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00. The hourly rate is £81.98, and we provide bespoke induction, competency framework, regional/career development opportunities and learning resources.

Qualifications

• MBChB or MBBS is required.
• Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and develop further knowledge across settings.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients’ needs and make timely decisions regarding future management.
• Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team and participate in governance activities.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank General Practitioner to join our healthcare team at Derwentside IRC. Derwentside IRC is an Immigration Removal Centre based in Consett, County Durham. The site supports up to 80 women aged 18+ with primary care, mental health and substance misuse service. GP sessions are similar to those in community and focus mainly on acute needs with a holistic and trauma informed approach.

Salary

• This is Bank role offering an hourly rate of £81.98
