Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a General Porters at Singleton Hospital in Swansea. The post is on a site-based contract with potential to work at other Health Board sites, with 30.5 or 37.5 hour weeks and a 24/7 shift pattern.
You will move patients and equipment, handle linen and waste, support departments under Portering Coordinator leadership, and contribute to a responsive, patient-focused service.
Vacancies have arisen for a general Porters based at Singleton Hospital in Swansea Bay University Health Board. The posts will be based on one site, although there may be a requirement to work at other Health Board hospitals. We are offering contracts either on 30.5hrs or 37.5 hrs and the working pattern will be varied with shifts covering a 24/7 service.
The post holder will be required to undertake a wide range of routine Portering duties including Patient movement, moving and handling, in line with the Portering department and general Health Board policies and procedures, with a commitment to customer care, following on the job training.
They will also be required to provide and maintain a flexible, dedicated, comprehensive support service to departments of the hospitals, under the direction of Portering Coordinator/ Portering Shift Leaders, establishing both clinical and non-clinical departments to function effectively.
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide an efficient Portering services to the Health Board, contributing to first class customer service to all users of the Health Board.
