Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a porter to join the site in Eastbourne. The role involves moving patients between wards and departments and supporting clinical teams during emergencies. Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, includes day and night shifts on a 3-week rolling roster.

A Trust induction and comprehensive training are provided; physical fitness is required for heavy lifting and long shifts. Parking available and staff facilities on site.

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our portering team at Eastbourne Hospital . This is a position working 12 hour shifts, days and nights.

A porter within a busy acute hospital setting will carry out many responsible duties. The main role and responsibilities are to move patients around from wards and departments such as X-Ray, CT, MRI, A&E.

Main duties of the job

Porters also attend fire calls, Emergency calls, Resus calls to assist the clinical teams, medical gasses and helicopter landings. This is a varied jobs role which the successful applicant will be required to be in good physical health.

A Trust induction and full training will be given.
