Job summary

Spire Yale Hospital in Wrexham is recruiting a Porter to join our portering team on a part-time, permanent basis.

You will work as a multi-skilled team member, covering courier, portering, cleaning, admin and security duties, with shifts 7am to 10pm Monday through Sunday.

We offer a competitive salary (£12.26 per hour) and a comprehensive benefits package including 35 days annual leave pro rata, pension, private medical insurance, life assurance and car park.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications are required; excellent communication skills and presentation are essential.
• Ability to escort patients safely and perform a range of duties as required.
• Good communication and organisational skills are necessary to support hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Cover courier, portering, cleaning, admin and security duties as needed.
• Manage deliveries and waste collection, including clinical waste.
• Move goods and equipment around the site and assist with administration tasks.

Spire Yale Hospital, Wrexham has an opportunity for a Porter to join our experienced Portering team on a part-time, permanent basis.

Spire Yale Hospital is one of North Wales' leading private hospitals and we take pride in delivering high-quality care. We offer fast access to consultations with specialists in a wide range of treatments, supported by advanced imaging and diagnostic technology.

Working Hours:31 hours per week - early and late shifts from 7am - 10pm Monday through Sunday
Contract type: Permanent

As Porter, you will work as multi-skilled member of the team providing high level, quality support to the hospital working with the minimum of supervision, covering any of the courier, portering, cleaning, admin and security duties

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Whilst no formal qualifications are required excellent communication skills and presentation are essential
• Although escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function you will also be required to perform a number of varied duties
• Managing deliveries, all waste collection and disposal (including clinical)
• Movement of all goods and equipment when required and any additional tasks as requested
• Hourly walk rounds of the hospital site and assisting in any security duties
• Helping with any administration tasks that may be required i.e. medical records
• Switchboard

What do you need to have?

• A clean, full UK driving license is required for the role
• Excellent customer service and providing a friendly ear to patients during what can sometimes be a particularly unsettling time, our team of Porters provide a vital service in our Hospital
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Excellent customer care skills
• Ability to work without supervision
• Caring and sympathetic
• Ability to work evenings and possibly some weekends
• Able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the department
