Description:

EQUANS are recruiting for a General Maintenance Operative on the HMCTS contract on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. This will include Legionella control and monitoring activities. Activities will include:

• Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
• Inspect/repair free standing and fitted furniture
• Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
• Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture
• Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing
• Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signs/notices
• Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
• Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
• Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
• Carry out reactive/Ad-Hoc activities – being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe

Who are we looking for?

• Would be desirable if you hold an NVQ (or similar) in either Plumbing, Carpentry or Decorating Services
• Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment
• Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques
• Understanding of Legionella control techniques e.g. tap flushing
• UK Driving Licence
• Due to the nature of the contract, you will be required to go through an enhanced security vetting process which will include a criminal records check
