About the Role:

NG Bailey is seeking a General Maintenance Operative to join our team and contribute to the upkeep of a prestigious building in the Liverpool Street area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll start in a hands-on role with the potential to advance to a technician position as you gain experience.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for a variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, while also having the opportunity to assist with larger, more complex projects.

Some key deliverables in this role will include:

As a General Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for:

1. Performing general building fabric repairs (e.g., walls, doors, skirting boards) and basic decorating tasks
2. Conducting minor plumbing and electrical repairs, ensuring systems are functioning effectively
3. Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), including tasks like emergency lighting checks and lamp replacements
4. Completing fabric inspections and identifying any required remedial works
5. Keeping site documentation up-to-date for both internal and external audits
6. Proactively identifying areas of improvement to ensure high standards of service delivery
7. Assisting in the supervision of sub-contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety standards

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

1. Hands-on experience with general repairs, including building fabric and minor plumbing and electrical work
2. A solid understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks
3. Ability to take a proactive approach to maintenance, spotting issues before they escalate
4. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
5. A keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
