Job summary

Berry Recruitment is seeking a temporary General Assistant (Catering) to support an education setting near Exeter from 21st to 25th September. You will work within a friendly catering team, assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen and dining service.

Duties include kitchen porter and cleaning duties, assisting with food preparation, serving food and drinks, and providing friendly customer service while following food hygiene, health & safety and safeguarding procedures.

Temporary General Assistant (Catering)

Location: Exeter, Devon
Dates: 21st – 25th September
Pay: £14.50 per hour
Hours: Shifts will vary throughout the week:
9:00am–2:00pm, 9:00am–3:00pm or 10:00am–2:00pm
Enhanced DBS required

We are looking for a temporary General Assistant (Catering) to join a friendly team at an education setting (nursery, primary and secondary) near Exeter for a temporary assignment from 21st to 25th September.

The location is in the Cranbrook area of Exeter and applicants must be able to commute to this location.

The Role

You will assist the catering team with the smooth running of the kitchen and dining service. Duties will include:

• Kitchen Porter and general cleaning duties
• Assisting with food preparation
• Serving food and drinks
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Clearing and cleaning tables and dining areas
• Following food hygiene, health & safety and safeguarding procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Comfortable working as part of a busy team
• Happy to carry out a range of practical catering duties
• Able to provide a high standard of customer service
• Previous catering, hospitality or school/education-setting experience is desirable but not essential

An Enhanced DBS is required for this position as the role is based within an education setting.
