Job summary

Speedy Hire is seeking a General Assistant at our Hull depot. You will share flexible hours and contribute to a well-run operation, including deliveries, stock control and customer service on the hire desk. The role supports our ESG initiatives and broader business goals.

You will work across the depot, with a mix of independent and collaborative tasks, and enjoy a work-life balance with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid driving licence.
• Able to use basic computer applications.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to adapt quickly to support colleagues and business needs.
• Support our ESG strategy and Decade to Deliver initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate across depot areas, including deliveries and/or collections.
• Assist with vehicle loading/unloading and equipment handling.
• Carry out basic electrical testing of equipment where required.
• Maintain stock control and clean, accurate records.
• Serve customers at the hire desk and provide helpful assistance.

Role - General Assistant

Location - Hull

Days of work - Mon - Fri, Times 07:30 - 16:30 - 42 hours

£29,572 per annum, pro rata

Working in all areas of the depot, you will play a busy but key role in making sure our depot runs smoothly. On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to be working both independently and directly with other colleagues in any area of the depot. This can include: making deliveries and/or collections, assisting with vehicle loading/unloading, electrical testing of our equipment, stock control, or serving customers on the hire desk.

• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
