Job summary

First Choice Staff in London is seeking a Gateway Coordinator to join our busy gateway team. You will help manage the sequential flow of consignments, oversee customs-related tasks, and ensure compliance with HMRC, IATA, CAA regulations and security procedures.

Suitable candidates will have proven freight forwarding experience, gateway operations exposure, and strong communication skills. The role is Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm, with training opportunities to develop within the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding and gateway functions.
• Consols experience is advantageous.
• Experience in gateway operations and airline transport advantageous.
• Familiarity with DFT/CAA, HMRC, IATA regulations is preferred.
• Keen to develop through training and grow in the role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Consolidation and gateway functions experience.
• Raise records in the ETSF and discharge T1s from overnight DDX deliveries.
• Manage the sequential flow of consignments arriving and departing with safety and security.
• Ensure invoicing, job costing, CIA are updated within required timeframes.
• Cost control and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Keep daily work schedules aligned with approved SOPs and KPIs.
• Resolve queries from customers and suppliers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Gateway Coordinator to work for a medium/large sized forwarder.

The Gateway Coordinator will be working as part of the gateway team, responsible for the delivery of effective and efficient customer service. Good understanding of working within a medium/large forwarder good knowledge of Import/ Export procedures as well as a good understanding of the freight industry security processes and complete understanding of HMRC, IATA, CAA regulations.

Role Involves:

• Previous experience of consolidation and gateway functions.
• Customs reports as required.
• Previous experience of working within freight forwarding.
• Raise records in the ETSF and discharge T1's from overnight DDX deliveries.
• Manage the sequential flow of consignments arriving and departing maintaining 100% safety and security.
• Ensure invoicing, job costing, CIA, are updated in timeframes.
• Cost Control.
• Remain in contact with customers and suppliers to maintain relationships.
• Ensure all daily work schedules are completed in line with approved departments.
• Follow strict and time sensitive SOP's/Kpi's to ensure compliance.
• Resolve queries from customers and suppliers.
