Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is hiring a Gatehouse Operative at our Skelmersdale site on a full-time basis. You will ensure accurate movement of customer products within the warehouse and wider network, delivering operational excellence with attention to detail.

Key duties include supporting warehouse operatives, pre-advising inbounds, reporting, and maintaining schedules. Experience in warehousing/logistics and strong customer service are valued. 4 on 4 off nights, 5pm–5am.

Qualifications

• Proficient with WMS and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience in Warehousing/Logistics/3PL.
• Goods In/Out or Stock Control experience.
• Customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support warehouse operatives when required.
• Escalate issues to Shift Manager in a timely manner.
• Pre-allocate loads and input pre-advises for customer inbounds.
• Compile and send reports as required.
• Run orders in line with instruction and scheduled dispatch times.
• Move staff across areas to maintain workflow.
• Select Loading/Un-loading Bay based on requirements.
• Update the Electronic Schedule and Auto-store to reflect activities.
• Carry out stock shortage investigations on picks and monitor replenishments.
• Control equipment allocation.

Job Description

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gatehouse Operative to join our friendly team at our Skelmersdale site on a full time permanent basis.

Salary:

£28,374 per annum.

Working hours:

4 on 4 off nights, 5pm-5am.

The Gatehouse Operative is responsible for accurately processing the movement of all of our customer products within the warehouse and around the wider network. As a Gatehouse Operative you are pivotal in order to deliver operational excellence and customer satisfaction with a high level of attention to detail.

Key Duties of a Gatehouse Operative:

• To assist and support the warehouse operatives when required.
• Maintain good communication with the Shift Manager and confident to escalation issues in a timely manner.
• Pre-allocate loads and input pre-advises for customer inbounds.
• Compile and send reports as required.
• Run orders in line with instruction and scheduled dispatch times.
• Movement of staff across work areas to maintain correct flow of activities.
• Selecting Loading / Un-loading Bay based on current operational requirements.
• Updating the Electronic Schedule and Auto-store to maintain an accurate representation of activities taking place on site.
• Carryout stock shortage investigations on picks and monitor replenishments.
• Control equipment allocation.

Qualifications

• Proficient in the use of WMS and Microsoft Excel.
• Great communication skills both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work within a warehouse environment dealing with products in and out bound and returns when required.
• Ideally you will have experience within a Warehousing/Transport/Logistics/3PL background.
• Previous Goods In/Out, Stock Control or Inventory experience.
• Have a strong Customer Service background.
