Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is seeking a Gatehouse Operative at its Skelmersdale site. This full-time role operates on a 4 on 4 off night shift (5pm–5am) and carries a salary of £28,374 per annum.

The successful candidate will accurately process movement of customer products within the warehouse to ensure operational excellence and high customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include supporting warehouse operatives, coordinating with the Shift Manager, pre-advising inbound loads, and

Qualifications

• Experience in Warehousing/Transport/Logistics/3PL is preferred.
• Goods In/Out, Stock Control or Inventory experience is advantageous.
• Strong customer service background and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support warehouse operatives when required.
• Maintain communication with the Shift Manager and escalate as needed.
• Pre-allocate loads and input pre-advises for customer inbounds.
• Compile and send required reports.
• Run orders aligned with instructions and scheduled dispatch times.
• Move staff across work areas to maintain flow of activities.
• Select loading/un-loading bays based on operational needs.
• Update the Electronic Schedule and Auto-store for accurate activity records.
• Carry out stock shortage investigations on picks and monitor replenishments.
• Control equipment allocation.

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gatehouse Operative to join our friendly team at our Skelmersdale site on a full time permanent basis.

Salary: £28,374 per annum.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 5pm-5am.

The Gatehouse Operative is responsible for accurately processing the movement of all of our customer products within the warehouse and around the wider network. As a Gatehouse Operative you are pivotal in order to deliver operational excellence and customer satisfaction with a high level of attention to detail.

Key Duties of a Gatehouse Operative:

• To assist and support the warehouse operatives when required.
• Maintain good communication with the Shift Manager and confident to escal…
• Pre-allocate loads and input pre-advises for customer inbounds.
• Compile and send reports as required.
• Run orders in line with instruction and scheduled dispatch times.
• Movement of staff across work areas to maintain correct flow of activities.
• Selecting Loading / Un-loading Bay based on current operational requirements.
• Updating the Electronic Schedule and Auto-store to maintain an accurate representation of activities taking place on site.
• Carryout stock shortage investigations on picks and monitor replenishments.
• Control equipment allocation.
  • Proficient in the use of WMS and Microsoft Excel.
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work within a warehouse environment dealing with products in and out bound and returns when required.
  • Ideally you will haveexperience within a Warehousing/Transport/Logistics/3PL background.
  • Previous Goods In/Out, Stock Control or Inventory experience.
  • Have a strong Customer Service background.
