Job summary

DPD is seeking a reliable Gatehouse Operative to manage day-to-day vehicle movements on and off the site, including LGV, delivery vans, contractors, visitors and international freight forwarders. You will record vehicle and driver details in internal systems to prevent unauthorised access and ensure loads are accounted for.

The role involves operating barriers, coordinating with contractors and colleagues, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring only authorised vehicles enter/exit the site (DPD, subcontractors, delivery vehicles).
• Communicating with other departments about vehicle movements.
• Conducting physical checks of vehicle details, seals and security measures.
• Ensuring reported empty trailers arriving/departing are checked.
• Working as part of a team to deliver gatehouse security and customer service.
• Coordinating activities between contractors, employees and visitors.
• Liaising with emergency services and third-party organisations.

Job description

Our General Manager of Security is looking to recruit reliable and dedicated Gatehouse Operatives.You will be required to manage the day to day vehicle movements on and off the property to include but not limited to LGV vehicles, delivery vans, contractors, visitors and international freight forwarders, ensuring that all vehicle and driver details are recorded accurately against internal computer systems to prevent unauthorised or malicious access to the site.You will be expected to process arrivals and departures in line with company policy and procedure to ensure all freight loads are accounted for correctly and secured as per requirement for departure.The Gatehouse Operative will be responsible for restricting and controlling the access and egress to site with appropriate operation of electronic or manual barriers and physical presence.
