Job summary

Citizen Housing Group in Hereford is looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our busy team. You will maintain estates using ride-on and other mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers, blowers, and ensure every lawn is neat and well cared for.

This role involves safe waste disposal, pruning, weed control, seasonal planting, litter picking, and keeping pavements clean. A Full UK driving licence is required and a Basic DBS check will be carried out.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence; ability to drive a manual company vehicle.
• Previous experience as a Grounds Maintenance Operative – Gardener.
• Post is subject to a Basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Take pride in delivering high-quality grass cutting across our estates and communal areas.
• Responsible for safe removal and disposal of green waste.
• Shrub pruning, hedge cutting, and seasonal planting to keep landscapes healthy.
• Use strimmers and powered tools to trim borders and edges.
• Carry out weed control using approved methods.
• Maintain safe and attractive estates through litter picking and tidying.
• Support upkeep of paved areas with light repairs and sweeping.
