Job summary

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Orange County is seeking a Cook II for the Kitchen Garde Manger station to prepare high-quality cold and hot plate elements and maintain presentation standards.

Requires a high school diploma with culinary education, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen, and willingness to work weekends/holidays. California Food Handler Card is required or obtainable before start. Base pay is $22.00 per hour with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with culinary education (apprenticeship, cooking school or institute).
• Experience on the line, sauté and grill with various temperatures and techniques.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours, weekends and holidays.
• Possess current health department certifications for kitchen work.
• Must have California Food Handler Card before first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Run the day to day operation of the assigned station.
• Prepare menus items and specials in accordance with recipes.
• Check mise en place, pars, and station setup.
• Maintain quality and presentation in production and plating.
• Communicate with Chefs about items, shortages or issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper safety practices.
• Handle and report accidents promptly and professionally.
• Follow hotel guidelines for timely guest service and safety.
