Job summary

Kier Group in Wellingborough is hiring a Ganger to lead our highways maintenance team. You will oversee a small crew, ensure safe, high-quality road repairs, and manage daily works with PUWER compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage works daily and keep the site safe for operatives and the public.
• Conduct site risk assessments and ensure safe-working procedures.

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Contract

Contract: Full time, 40 hours per week , Monday to Friday

Salary

Salary: £29,641.01 to £34,946.27 depending on experience + call out + overtime

What will you be responsible for?

As Ganger you'll be working within our maintenance team, supporting them in leading a small team to carry out a range of tasks to ensure the effective maintenance of the highway network across North Northamptonshire.

Your day to day duties will include:

• Undertaking repair works to avariety of highways assets including tarmacadam repair to roads, footways, kerbs, soft estates, signs, posts, street furniture and ironworks.
• Safekeeping andoperation of specialist equipment, making sure that equipment is properly maintained and all PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) records are completed correctly.
• Giving guidance and training to colleagues, working to Kier, Health, Safety,Environmental and Quality standards, ensuring the economic use of materials.
• Managing the works daily, ensuring the site is safe forour operatives and the public.
• Conducting point ofwork risk assessments to ensure that the work area is properly protected and safe-working procedures are being maintained.
• Utilising a mobileapplication to record photographs and site safety information.
