Job summary

OurCoop is the UK’s largest independent co-operative Society, operating nationwide with a network of care centres. The Funeral Services Co-ordinator will manage the fleeting diary and day-to-day operations, ensuring compassionate care for families and smooth funeral services.

You will work with the Funeral Operations Lead to develop colleagues, monitor budgets, and ensure paperwork and regulatory compliance across sites. Strong IT and organisational skills are essential.

• Competent with IT systems and applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate fleeting diary and day-to-day operations of allocated care centre(s).
• Ensure equipment is maintained and staff are trained to use it correctly.
• Prioritise safety and security procedures for colleagues, Members and clients.
• Perform daily safety and legal checks to ensure smooth operations.
• Complete paperwork related to care for people who have died (mortuary/register/ashes/identification).
• Manage stock of coffins and related materials.
• Support Funeral Operations Lead in skills development and training.
• Monitor budget and scorecard performance to meet targets.
• Audit work schedules to ensure full coverage and accurate pay.
