Job summary

East of England Co‑op Funeral Services is seeking a Funeral Co-ordinator to act as the main point of contact for clients, families and communities. You will support funeral services, pre-payment plans and related activities, bringing empathy and professionalism to every engagement.

We value flexibility, local knowledge, and a proactive approach, with on-call duties likely. Training and strong support from nearby branches and Head Office are provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic, professional conduct and appearance.
• Team player with a flexible approach.
• Attention to detail in funeral arrangements and ceremonies.
• Good knowledge of the local area for community engagement.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive and/or bear on funeral services, supporting clients' and families' needs throughout.
• To bring the deceased into our care from different locations / in varying circumstances.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral service.
• Oversee chapel visits.
• Maintain the cleanliness and high standard of our facilities and ceremonial vehicles.
• Other support tasks, including preparing coffins, checking floral tributes and order of service.
